Mmmm…Template Package

Hola everyone!

I’ve begun work on a soon-to-be large template package. Every single template designed in it will be CSS valid, XHTML valid, and HTML 4.01 valid. I made one already, but as I started coding it, there were so many small flaws with the overall design, and with the images, that I scraped it and started all over. Now for the ‘first’ template, I’m making it techy. Who says web standards has to be bland? Although w3.org proves this idea right. It’s got to be the most bland web standard site I’ve ever seen.

If anyone has any ideas they’d like to put forth for this template package, please comment on it! If you have any images that you think could be expanded upon, post them here. Lastly, if you have seen any website with a unique concept in it, please post the link here, and I’ll see if it could be built upon anymore.

I think this template package will be released within 2 1/2 months, and may contain around 45 templates. Some will just be color variations, while the rest will be original designs concieved during my late nights rambling to my friends on MSN about nothing and everything.

If this package - once completed - gets enough popularity, I may think about making another package of free templates, along with some premium templates. Here’s a run down on the package so far:

Estimated Completion Date: Mid July
Total Templates Completed: 45
Distributed completely free
Shall contain both mere color variations and unique designs
Quirky themes and color choices

And there you have it. My first template package. More news on later dates.

it even expands and contracts to whatever resolution you are using… yay for fluid layouts

*drools* Nice layout.

I was wondering, for one of the templates I’m making, if border’s can be specified to have images. I’m trying to get one to work now, but I’m not sure how to provide the CSS to make the border of a DIV an image instead of just “solid, dashed, inline, etc”

You can’t. You have to do it via a background I think. Well, you can in CSS3, but crap like IE doesn’t support that, I think Firefox is meant to, not sure if it really does or not

Ah, alrighty. No wonder it never worked for me.

But IE will support CSS 3 when CSS 10 is out.

ja, i mainly used lots of div’s within div’s to get that layout… mighty confusing, but once you do it for the first time, it kinda gets easier
