Things That Annoy Me About My Job
Sep 28 2005 by Adam
Almost everyone has a job. The vast majority of us have problems with the aforementioned. No matter how small or how inconvenient, there is always something that makes you groan. No matter what your job is, people do so many stupid things, you wonder how they managed to still be alive. I personally deliver newspapers. Here is what annoys me about my job. Enjoy.
1. On Saturdays the paper company is always late dropping off my papers and people call me and complain to me and ask me why they are late.
2. On days when they are giving me flyers, they are always late. I don't understand this- they're making me have to wait to do a job thats going to take me longer anyways.
3. The Saturday papers are made up of 80% flyers and 20% newspaper.
4. No matter when I try to call the paper company for an extra newspaper or to ask about something - it takes me ten calls to get through once. I know other people must have this problem... but they're too cheap to do anything about it.
5. When I collect from my customers, half of them are impossible to get a hold of, and when I do get a hold of them they, "have no money on them".
6. People who have the nerve to tell me they have no money on them. everyone has money on them. And if by some freak of nature they don't, they obviously have it in the bank- so why do they insist on me collecting when they can charge it to their credit card?
7. Everyone I collect from, always asks me, "how much is it?". This may not seem like a problem, but these are people who have been getting the paper for years, at the same prices, all the time. However, in some cases, this is almost appropriate, because they're after missing so many collection periods they're after losing count of what they owe me.
8. People who insist on giving me exactly what they owe me or insist I give them the exact change. After all the work I have to do to track down these people- they won't give me a 1$ tip.
9. I have more fliers to deliver than pappers.
10. I have to do this EVERY DAY.
